Your tiles with TileMaker app look and work just like "Get started with your site" web part on Team Sites.
In the newest update, your tiles can be round, have round corners and resemble Google and Apple design styles. Your tiles can look a bit like Windows "Metro" tiles as well. In addition, you can also choose new smaller size, 75x75 pixels, for all design styles.
TileMaker app shows your own images, text, and links. It allows you to add links to content, and add as many tiles as you wish.
You can fill up a whole page with tiles, or you can use TileMaker to add 3-4 tiles. You can link to a document, page or a site.
You can also enable search box and get users to search in Title and Description text. Search is a query to "Tiles" list and it is not based on SharePoint search.
TileMaker app shows your images, and as you can see it from the video, you can make these images in PowerPoint, Photoshop, or any other application.
Your images are automatically centered in the middle of tiles, while larger images are auto-scaled to fit the tiles.
"Tile Maker" App Part shows 150x150 pixels tiles per default, and it can be set to show larger 275x275 pixels tiles, or 150x275 pixels tiles.
Tiles in the video are shown in two rows. Tiles are aligned and fitted to match the TileMaker App Part width and height. Setting the TileMaker App Part width up to larger size will place the tiles in one row.
Setting the TileMaker App Part width value down to for example 150px will place each tile in its own row. A detailed description of how to set up the tiles is to be found in the support document.
