Harmonia was founded in 1999 and has mainly focused on providing software services for various government agencies including the Department of Defense, FDA, Air Force, Navy, Lockheed Martin, Northrup Grumman and many others.
The RapidStat App, which will be our first offering in the Office App Store, was a project funded by the National Cancer Institute at the National Institutes of Health (NIH). This project was intended to make high powered statistical algorithms easily accessible to researchers.
The R programming language has an immense library of powerful algorithms for every industry. However, most people do not have the time or inclination to learn how to write the code to use these libraries. RapidStat allows you to work in the familiar and easy to use environment of Microsoft Excel instead of a command line.
You simply input your data into an Excel spreadsheet, choose the algorithm that you want, point and click to tell RapidStat where the data lives, and hit submit. The data is sent to our servers where it is packaged up and sent to R for execution. The answer is returned to the user by populating their spreadsheet.
Every one of our algorithms has demo data associated with it, so that the user can see how the data should be laid out to make the algorithm work. We also have extensive help files for each algorithm that explain the inner workings of the math involved and describe typical uses.
